2012 Season
Freeport Shakespeare Festival announces its 2012 season at the Freeport Factory Stage.
The Complete Works of William Shakespeare [Abridged] has opened on March 8 and runs through March 24, 2012.
The Freeport Shakespeare Festival is excited to present its first 2012 production at the Freeport Factory Stage. Think you know all there is to know about the Bard? You’d be surprised at what you might have missed! Director Peter Brown is at the helm of this fast-paced clownfest which features the talents of Bari Robinson, Ben Row and Bill McDonough. Our first weekend had people literally turning into the aisles to catch their breath from laughing. It's a great show for all ages. Nothing like an Othello (O-fella) rap scene to bridge the generations:
Performances are March 8-25, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. – All Thursday performances are Pay-What-You-Can – all other performance ticket prices are $19 general admission and $15 students/seniors. Special group pricing is available.
***** NEWS *****
We have a special opportunity for students to see "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)", for its two remaining weekends.
This month marks the 80th consecutive year of the Maine Drama Festival - a statewide festival of one-act plays involving more than 2,000 students from 77 schools.
In recognition for all the great work produced and performed by students through-out the state, we are inviting all students of any age from 4 to 18 to attend any of the remaining performances for free, when accompanied by a parent or adult. This applies to home-schooled students, as well! Simply call to make reservations, with the name of the school, preschool or parents providing home school. For any older students, who want to come by themselves, their tickets will cost only one-half of the normal student price, $7.50.
Congratulations to everyone in Maine who has participated in, and supported, this year's Maine Drama Festival.
Measure for Measure will open on October 25 and run through November 10, 2012.
