Intern Company Application
The Freeport Shakespeare Festival Intern Company will be composed of 8-10 high school juniors or seniors who wish to further their theatre careers by working in a professional theatre. Interns can elect to perform only technical work or they will have the opportunity to audition and perform in the main stage production in small or medium sized roles.
Interns will also be offered the chance to attend pre-production meetings in the spring with professional designers, production staff and administrative personnel.
All prospective interns must complete the enclosed application packet for consideration.
Interns will be paid a stipend of $100. In addition to rehearsal time, they will be responsible for approximately 10-15 hours per week of work in their assigned department. Interns will be reviewed at the end of the season and will have the chance to offer feedback on their experience. Interns whose schools require community service hours will receive a letter of credit for the total number of hours worked.
Interns must be at least 16 years old by June 1, 2011 and MUST have reliable transportation to and from work calls and rehearsals.
The intern company will be responsible for the tasks set forth below. All interns will be required to assist with strike duties at the conclusion of the final performance. A company of up to ten (10) interns will be hired for the 2011 production season, up to two (2) of the 10 positions below will additionally be considered for acting roles.

Interns must indicate an area of interest on their applications. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. Deadline for Internship Application is January 31, 2011.
